How do I set up or turn off the logging reminder?

The logging reminder nudges you to log every so often through the day, and stays quiet when you've logged recently.

Turn it on or off

  1. Go to Settings → Profile → Logging reminder.
  2. Switch Remind me to log on or off. It saves as you go.
  3. Choose how often (Every 30, 45, 60, 90 or 120 minutes) and the hours it runs (From and Until). It starts at every 60 minutes, from 8 AM until 9 PM, on your profile's time zone.
  4. Press Send a test reminder to see what it looks like.

You'll also be offered the reminder on the Log just after your first entry, and in the Getting started list.

How it reaches you

The reminder works while Well Lived is open in a browser tab, so a pinned tab works well. When it's time to log:

  • a card appears on the page with Log it and Not now, and
  • if the tab is in the background and you've allowed notifications, your browser shows a notification: Time for a quick log.

If notifications are blocked, the settings page explains how to allow them, with an Allow notifications button. The card on the page works either way.

Questions

Will it remind me if I've just logged on my phone? No. It checks for any entry within your interval, from any device.

Can I get the reminder by email or as a phone notification? Not yet. It only shows while a Well Lived tab is open. On Android, Chrome shows the card on the page but not a notification.

How do I stop it for the rest of today? Turn Remind me to log off, and back on tomorrow. Or narrow the hours with Until.
